IDEF, which has become an important promotion, marketing and cooperation platform in the fields of defense and security, opened its doors for the 16th time this year.
The fair, which is organized under the auspices of the Presidency, hosted by the Ministry of National Defense, under the management and responsibility of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV), and organized by Tüyap Tüm Fuarcılık Yapım AŞ, is held at Tüyap Fair and Congress Center.
CANiK, one of the ambitious players of medium caliber cannons and unmanned weapon systems, introduces its newest and most powerful products to the world at the fair.
At IDEF’23, CANiK showcased the advanced new version of Turkey’s national 12.7 mm anti-aircraft CANiK M2 QCB, CANiK M3 for the first time. Having acquired British AEI Systems, one of the world’s leading companies in the field of medium caliber cannon production, last year, CANiK exhibits the Venom LR, one of the most ambitious products in the world in its field, for the first time at IDEF’23.
Making an impact with its investment in the production of 30×113 mm guns, which is of great importance for sea, air and land platforms, CANiK aims to add strength to Turkey’s power with the capabilities it will bring to the armed forces of friendly and allied states, as well as the Turkish Armed Forces, with the Venom LR.
CANiK is also presenting all of the National Technology Move products of Unirobotics, one of the group companies of Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS), to which it is affiliated, to the world at IDEF’23 this year.

Cahit Utku Aral, General Manager of CANiK, said in a statement that the M3, the fastest version of the national heavy machine gun M2, which everyone knows well, was exhibited at IDEF, “This is an important platform for Turkey. It has an important rate of fire for the integration of our air platforms. Besides, we are exhibiting 20, 25 and 30 millimeter cannons produced by the British company AEI Systems, which we purchased in December 2022.” said.
Stating that 30×113 mm guns, one of the most important solutions of CANiK, were showcased at the fair, Aral talked about the areas where this gun is used.
Aral said, “Our Venom LR weapon is on display at many stands, on HAVELSAN’s unmanned land vehicle and on the ATAK helicopter. Therefore, it became one of the favorite weapons of the fair.” said.
Stating that they exhibited the remote-controlled and unmanned tower (Trakon Targan), which is unique in the world, at the fair, Aral said that they also presented some systems they implemented for the Coast Guard Command to the taste of the participants.
Aral stated that all products of Samsun Yurt Savunma met with the participants at the event.
“We will meet with participants from more than 50 countries”
Cahit Utku Aral stated that all of the products they exhibited at the latest IDEF have been put into use, and concluded his words as follows:
“This fair is very important for Turkey. We have planned meetings with more than 50 countries at IDEF. There are police, soldiers and civilian companies. Our goal here is to at least start negotiations for our fire control systems and artillery that are in Turkey’s inventory. We are also expecting direct orders for some systems and products. We have made important negotiations from African countries and Middle East countries. They will be placed on order.”
