Çiğli Airport will host TEKNOFEST, which will be held between 27 September – 1 October.
Students who work in fields such as aviation, space and robotic coding in Deneyap workshops are also among the competitors of the festival. Deneyap Idea Marathon and Deneyap Makeathon (MAKETON) Races will be held for the first time at TEKNOFEST Izmir.
TEKNOFEST Izmir, organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, will witness various events, including technology competitions, air shows, concerts and interviews, for 5 days.
The number of visitors is expected to exceed 1 million.
TEKNOFEST from yesterday to today
4 thousand 333 teams and 20 thousand young people applied to the technology competitions in 14 categories at TEKNOFEST, the first of which was held at Istanbul Airport in 2018. 550 thousand visitors took part in this festival. More than 2 million liras in prizes and more than 2 million liras in financial support were given in the competitions.
After this date, TEKNOFEST’s address in Istanbul became Atatürk Airport, and the number of visitors attending the festival in 2019 increased more than 3 times compared to the first one, reaching 1 million 720 thousand. 17 thousand 373 teams and more than 50 thousand competitors from 122 countries as well as Turkey applied to the competitions held in 19 categories in total. More than 2 million lira of awards and more than 4 million lira of financial support were provided in the competitions.
The prize amount exceeded 30 million lira
The festival, which continued within the precautions in the year when the COVID-19 epidemic was effective in the world, was hosted by Gaziantep Middle East Fair Center in 2020. Despite the epidemic, 20 thousand 197 teams and 100 thousand young people from 84 countries applied to the competitions held in 21 categories here. Within the scope of epidemic measures, no visitors were accepted to the festival. A total of more than 7 million lira was awarded here.
TEKNOFEST opened its doors to its visitors in Istanbul again in 2021. Here, the number of competition categories reached 35 and the total amount of awards given reached 12 million lira. More than 200 thousand competitors with 44 thousand 912 teams from 111 countries applied to the competitions. 1 million visitors attended the festival.
Last year, 1 million 250 thousand visitors attended the festival held in the Black Sea Region, centered at Samsun Çarşamba Airport. While 40 technology competitions were organized on the focus areas of the future within the scope of “TEKNOFEST Black Sea”, more than 154 thousand teams and more than 600 thousand competitors from 107 countries applied to the competitions. The amount of awards given approached 30 million lira.
In 2022, the festival crossed the country’s border for the first time and was held in Baku Crystal Hall, Azerbaijan. The event hosted more than 300 thousand visitors. 1010 teams and 5 thousand 636 competitors applied to the festival, where 10 different technology competitions were held.
He was in the capital for the first time on the 100th anniversary of the Republic
The first address of TEKNOFEST 2023 was Istanbul again between 27 April and 1 May. The festival went down in history as the “world’s largest organization” with more than 2.5 million visitors.
The event, which was held for the first time at Ankara Etimesgut Airport in the capital city on the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, was visited by 943 thousand people.
