Organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3) and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, TEKNOFEST hosts various activities, especially technology competitions, air shows, concerts, interviews and events.
Within the scope of the festival, which aims to raise awareness about the transformation of the country into a society that produces and develops technology, technology competitions are organized in various disciplines and categories, and many applications are made to these competitions from all of Turkey and the countries of the world.
In this context, 4 thousand 333 teams and 20 thousand young people applied to the technology competitions held in 14 categories at TEKNOFEST, the first of which was held at Istanbul Airport in 2018. 550 thousand visitors took part in this festival.
After this date, TEKNOFEST’s address in Istanbul became Atatürk Airport, and the number of visitors to the festival in 2019 increased more than 3 times compared to the first time, reaching 1 million 720 thousand. In addition to Turkey, 17,373 teams and 50 thousand competitors from 122 countries applied to the competitions held in 19 categories in total.
Opened to Anatolia
The festival, which continued within the scope of the measures in the year when the Kovid-19 epidemic was effective in the world, was hosted by Gaziantep Middle East Fair Center in 2020. Despite the epidemic, 20 thousand 197 teams and 100 thousand young people from 84 countries applied to the competitions held in 21 categories. As part of the epidemic measures, no visitors were accepted to the festival.
TEKNOFEST opened its doors to its visitors in Istanbul again in 2021. Here, the number of competition categories increased to 35. 44 thousand 912 teams from 111 countries and 200 thousand competitors applied to the competitions. 1 million visitors attended the festival.
Crossed national borders for the first time
Last year, 1 million 250 thousand visitors participated in the festival, which was opened in the Black Sea Region based on Samsun Çarşamba Airport. Within the scope of “TEKNOFEST Black Sea”, 40 technology competitions were organized on the focus areas of the future, and more than 154 thousand teams and more than 600 thousand competitors from 107 countries applied to the competitions.
Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that by establishing TEKNOFEST workshops in 81 provinces of Turkey, they will reach young people who are interested in science and that the event will open up to the world, primarily to the Turkish republics, in the coming years. The festival was held for the first time in 2022 at the Azerbaijan Baku Crystal Hall, crossing the country border. The event hosted more than 300 thousand visitors. 1010 teams and 5,636 competitors applied to the festival, where 10 different technology competitions were held.
In the Capital for the first time in the 100th anniversary of the Republic
The first address of TEKNOFEST 2023, organized in the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, was again Istanbul on April 27-May 1. The festival, which is the “world’s largest organization” with more than 2.5 million visitors, includes technology competitions, entrepreneurship program, breathtaking air shows, award ceremonies, your stage event, educational workshops, exhibitions, stage plays, special flight experiences for children. hosted many events.
This year, the festival, where more than 333 thousand teams and more than 1 million competitors applied to technology competitions, is preparing to open its doors to visitors in Ankara and Izmir after Istanbul.
Standing out with the slogan “We are at Etimesgut Airport in SenGELECEKSIN”, the festival will meet its enthusiasts for the first time in the capital Ankara on August 30-September 3.
In the event to be held at Ankara Etimesgut Airport, various activities include technology and entrepreneurship competitions, air shows, air and land vehicles exhibition, educational workshop activities, vertical wind tunnel, simulation experience areas, “Refik Anadol Machinery Memories: Space” exhibition, planetarium and stage shows. will be performed.
In the TEKNOFEST Startup Competition in Ankara, the titles of “Education Technologies”, “Communication and Communication Technologies”, “Agricultural Technologies”, “Disaster Management Technologies”, “Transportation and Mobility Technologies” and “Space, Aviation and Defense Technologies” stand out. .
TEKNOFEST will host its visitors at İzmir Çiğli Airport on 27 September-1 October.
