TEKNOFEST, organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, with the partnership of many organizations that play a critical role in the development of national technology in Turkey; It hosts many activities such as technology competitions, air shows, concerts, talks and events on various topics.

The event aims to increase the interest in technology in society and to raise awareness about Turkey’s transformation into a society that produces and develops technology. Technology competitions in various disciplines and categories are organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST for hundreds of thousands of young people to realize their dreams.


Held in Istanbul in 2018 and 2019

The first event was held at Istanbul Airport in 2018. A total of 4 thousand 333 teams and 20 thousand young people applied to the technology competitions held in 14 different categories within the scope of TEKNOFEST in 2018. 550 thousand people visited the festival in 2018.

The second TEKNOFEST was held in Istanbul Atatürk Airport in 2019. 17 thousand 373 teams and 50 thousand competitors from 81 provinces and 122 countries applied to the technology competitions held in 19 different categories at TEKNOFEST 2019. TEKNOFEST became the “world’s largest aviation festival” with 1 million 720 thousand visitors in 2019.


TEKNOFEST Gaziantep hosted the participants in 2020

In the next period, it was decided to organize the event in Istanbul for one year and in Anatolia for one year. In this context, TEKNOFEST was held in Gaziantep in 2020.

In the festival hosted by Gaziantep Middle East Fair Center, 20 thousand 197 teams and 100 thousand young people from 81 provinces and 84 countries applied to the technology competitions held in 21 different categories. Only the contestants participated in the event, which was not accepted as visitors due to the Kovid-19 measures.


Technology lovers met in Istanbul in 2021

After Gaziantep, TEKNOFEST was held again in Istanbul Atatürk Airport in 2021. Within the scope of the festival in 2021, 44 thousand 912 teams and 200 thousand competitors from 81 provinces, 111 countries applied to the technology competitions held in 35 different categories.

The event, which was also attended by Nobel Prize-winning scientist Aziz Sancar, hosted many visitors.


It was held in Azerbaijan for the first time abroad in 2022

Last year, TEKNOFEST opened abroad for the first time and was held in Azerbaijan Baku Crystal Hall.

10 different technology competitions were held in TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan. 1,010 teams and 5,636 competitors applied to these competitions.


TEKNOFEST wind blew in the Black Sea

After TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan, the festival was held on 30 August-4 September 2022 in the Black Sea Region, centered on Samsun Çarşamba Airport.

Within the scope of TEKNOFEST Black Sea, 40 different technology competitions were held on the focus areas of the future. More than 154 thousand teams and more than 600 thousand competitors from 81 provinces, 107 countries applied to these competitions.


TEKNOFEST enthusiasm is back in Istanbul in 2023

TEKNOFEST was planned to be held in Izmir, Ankara and Istanbul on the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. The event in Izmir, which will be held on March 16-19, was postponed to a later date due to the earthquake disaster.

TEKNOFEST’s Istanbul event will be held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport on April 27-May 1. This year, 41 main competitions are held in 102 different categories at TEKNOFEST, with 332 thousand teams and more than 1 million competitors participating in these competitions. In the competitions, more than 13 million TL of prizes and over 30 million TL of material support will be given.

In addition to the competitions held in many categories such as smart transportation, biotechnology innovation, chip design, vertical landing rocket, educational technologies, barrier-free living technologies, stakeholder institutions also exhibit the products they developed and the services they offered at the stands they opened. The prominent projects of the defense industry, including Bayraktar Kızılelma and Bayraktar Akıncı, are also presented to the visitors. This year, Bayraktar TB3 Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle will take its place at the TEKNOFEST event area for the first time.


Many flight shows from Turkish Stars to Solo Türk

Turkish Stars, Solo Türk, Hürkuş, Gökbey, Aksungur, Bayraktar TB2, Gendarmerie Steel Wings, Bayraktar AKINCI, ATAK and Anka will also perform flight shows as part of the event.

Visitor registration for the event, which will start hosting its visitors at Istanbul Atatürk Airport tomorrow, can be done at “teknofest.org”.

After Istanbul, TEKNOFEST will host its visitors at the 11th Air Transport Base in Ankara Etimesgut on 30 August-3 September.
