It is aimed to strengthen the presence of the Turkish States in the space scene, thanks to the space and aviation trainings to be given to young people aged 9 to 15 years.
Turkish Space Agency President Serdar Hüseyin Yıldırım, who said that the Turkic Republics Space Explorers Academy is a first step and that they can develop many projects in the future, said:
“Today, we have taken a modest step in these efforts. It is a first step for a limited number of young people from the countries here to come here, do very good work, receive education and get to know each other. It is a modest step, but an important one, because it will follow, it will go much further. As TUA, we presented another project at the meetings. We decided to make a small satellite together. It was accepted, our work on this issue continues. In this way, we continue our efforts to form the basis for the future work of the young people here at the point of making, launching and operating the satellite by taking tangible steps together.”
“We have full confidence in you to represent the Turkish world on the space stage”
Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil gave the following words in his speech at the opening:
“It is a privilege to be here today with our young people who are seen as future scientists, aerospace engineers and leaders. You are the generation that will undertake the design of the vehicles and satellites we will send into space in the future and make scientific discoveries. We have full confidence in you to strengthen our presence in space and to represent the Turkish world on the space stage. I would like to emphasize that cooperation in the field of space is an indispensable step for the Turkish world to carry our common heritage to the future. Collaboration on space projects will help strengthen not only technical and scientific ties, but also human ties. The meeting held in Uzbekistan in April 2023 was a turning point to cooperate in the field of space as the member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkish States. We set goals such as developing joint satellite projects, organizing workshops, and illuminating the future with youth space containers. It is our great honor and pleasure to launch the first youth space camp today. The training we will offer to our youth between the ages of 9-15 will create space awareness in the countries of the Turkish world and increase the interest of young generations in this field. You, our enthusiastic and dynamic youth, will be a source of inspiration for future space projects. This training program will contribute to achieving this goal.”
